Let's Eat

Everyone knows the saying, “eat an elephant one bite at a time.”  It just makes sense - how else could you enjoy such a huge meal?  I think you’d be wise to have something to drink with the meal too.

It is not any different when it comes to enjoying the content of your Bible.  It is best consumed one bite at a time.

If you are relatively new to the idea of actually learning the Bible, I have some pointers to get you started and help you to really enjoy the life-giving food and beverage that awaits you.

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Matthew 13:44 NIV

The first thing to point out is that you will discover, hidden within the covers of your Bible, a treasure. The more you dig, the more you will find. The more you hunger for it, the more you will be fed. If you thirst for it, your thirst will be satisfied. These promises are guaranteed by the author Himself.

The second thing you need to be aware of is that once you discover the hidden treasure, it will bring joy to your life. So much joy, in fact, that you will do whatever it takes to repeat the experience over and over. Your quest for this joyful experience may cause you to get up a little earlier each day, or turn off the TV for a while, or maybe even cut down on your Facebook time.

So how do you actually get into this Bible buffet?
